How to proceed: report job change

Job change

What you have to do to join/leave Vita's occupational pension plan

Entry into the Vita occupational pension plan

You have changed employer and have recently joined Vita. If you were already working prior to registering with Vita and have saved pension fund assets, you as an employee are responsible for ensuring that the retirement assets you have already saved are transferred from the previous pension plan to Vita. The procedure differs depending on the pension planning solution.

How to proceed: Entry

You are new to Vita Classic, Vita Relax or Vita Plus:

  1. To transfer the pension assets which you have already saved into Vita, we recommend that you download our Vested benefits when changing jobs form and add your name, date of birth, AHV number, new employer and the affiliation contract number.
  2. Send a letter (a sample letter can be found here) and the completed Vested benefits when changing jobs form to your previous pension plan so that your new pension plan has all the necessary information to transfer your departure payment.
  3. As soon as we have credited your departure payment to your pension savings, you will receive your new Vita pension certificate.

You are new to Vita Invest or Vita Select

If you have recently joined Vita Invest or Vita Select, please request the deposit slip designated for the pension fund from your employer directly or call us on 0800 80 80 80.

Please note

If you do not inform your previous employer's pension plan where your saved retirement savings capital should be transferred to within six weeks of your leaving, it is required by law to transfer your departure payment to the auxiliary fund foundation. In this case, a vested benefits account will be opened in your name with the foundation. The auxiliary fund foundation manages occupational pension assets transferred by pension plans on behalf of The Confederation, should no notification be received. You can find further information about the foundation here.

If you do not know where your departure payment from previous pension plans is located, you can ask the pillar 2 central office. The pillar 2 central office is the connection point between the pension plans and the insurance.

Leaving the the occupational pension plan from Vita

As an employer you have an obligation to give your pension fund notice of your employees' leaving if the employment relationship ends. The saved funds from the occupational pension plan must be transferred to the new employer's pension fund. If employees do not join a new pension fund or have already joined one, the leaving payment is transferred to the vested benefit policy or a vested benefit account. In the case of leavings or retirements during the year, all premiums are due on the leaving date.

How to proceed: Leaving

  1. In this case you can open a vested benefits account with the Zurich Vested Benefits Foundation or with a vested benefits institution of your choice. Insignificance: You are leaving Vita after just a short time

If you have only been insured in Vita's occupational pension scheme for a short time, your departure payment could be smaller than the annual contribution that you made for your occupational pension provision (insignificance). In this case, you can have the departure payment paid out in cash, if you prefer. Your annual contribution is shown in your pension certificate. How to proceed: Insignificance
