Vita Collective Foundation: Foundation Board increases additional interest by 1 percent

The Foundation Board of the Vita Collective Foundation authorizes an extraordinary additional interest rate of 1 percent on retirement assets. This is in response to the Foundation's solid financial situation and the changed framework conditions shaping the interest policy. Insured persons' retirement assets will earn an average interest of 3.25 percent in 2025.

The Vita Collective Foundation was able to further expand its fluctuation reserves and strengthen the Foundation's financial stability. At the same time, the framework for interest rate policy has changed. These developments give the Foundation more room to maneuver when determining the interest rate on retirement assets. The Foundation Board has therefore authorized an extraordinary additional interest rate of 1 percent for 2025. An average interest of 3.25 percent is now paid on retirement assets. All insured persons who are insured with the Vita Collective Foundation on July 1, 2025 will benefit from this additional interest.

Model-based interest calculation: Transparent, plannable, but not very flexible

The Vita Collective Foundation is one of the few foundations on the market that announces the interest rate on retirement assets in advance and on the basis of a mechanism defined in its regulations. Although this model guarantees the affiliated pension funds transparency and predictability, it leaves little room to maneuver. As the landscape is constantly changing, the Foundation Board is examining the possibility of a more flexible approach to interest rates in the coming years.

Stable retirement provision partner

With around 150,000 insured persons, the Vita Collective Foundation is one of the largest collective foundations in Switzerland. Financial stability is important for a foundation of this size. It must be secured for the medium to long term, even in times of low expected returns and high market volatility. The Foundation Board has therefore set itself the goal of continuously increasing the fluctuation reserves in recent years. This was successful, as the extraordinary additional interest shows.
